We tried a different format this year and played four six end games. Most people enjoyed it but some thought six ends was too few. Maybe four by eight end games would be a good compromise next year.
The favourite was Terry Bradshaw, playing with Jenn Wetherall but in the first game they lost 5-7 to Sheri Perkins, Marty Reynen and Charles Funnell. However, they remained unbeaten in the next three rounds. For most of the day Ernie Sapinski, Robert Eals and Sue Foote were in the driving seat and won their first three games. The wheels came off in their final game against Terry and Jenn who clinched the tournament by beating Ernie.
Three teams finished with a 3-1 record, so the final places were decided on points scored. Lynn Bryans, Gregg Booth and Henry Kowalski snuck into second place leaving Ernie in third place.
Final scores:
Terry Bradshaw and Jenn Wetherall W3 L1 32 points
Lynn Bryans, Greg Booth and Henry Kowalski W3 L1 28 points
Ernie Sapinski, Robert Eals and Sue Foote W3 L1 22 points
Last game high – Lori Wills, Jim Clark and Irene Miller
Gary Miller won a very competitive skills game game on rolling a jack.
