On August 22nd we held the club pairs championships. This event is sponsored by club members Jenn Wetherall and Brent Bayley in memory of their friend and club member John Clews.

There were 10 ladies teams and 9 men's. They were split into two groups of five (ladies) and one group of five and one of four (men's).
Every group played a round robin. The format was two sets of four ends. There were some tight games with both teams winning a set each which meant lots of extra tie breaker ends.
At the end of the round robin the top teams in each group played each other to decide first and second. The teams that were second played to decide third and fourth.
In the ladies the top two teams were Nan Hendren and Dana Williams and Carol Dewey and Ann Leahey. Nan and Dana took the honours to finish in first placeIn the men's competition Tom and Ken Bevan defeated Bill Arthur and Ralph Stoffers.
