Cobourg Brings the Fun to Oshawa!
Five Cobourg teams rolled into the Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club on August 20 for the Ladies Pairs Tournament—and, as always, they brought plenty of good bowling, good humour and great camaraderie!
Representing Cobourg were Carol Dewey & Mary Salter, Ann Tough & Kathleen Shirley, Jan Moynes & Anne Leahy, Laura Mounce & Julie Perry, and Sarah van Steijn & Tammy Browes-Bugden.
The games got underway with the greens heavy with dew, but the warm August sunshine soon dried things out and the greens quickly picked up speed, making for some lively and competitive bowling.
The Cobourg crews held their own and came away with a very respectable share of the prize money. Laura and Julie took second place with the High Three-Game, while Jan and Anne claimed third place with the High Two-Game. Sarah and Tammy captured the High One-Game prize, and Sarah added to the Cobourg winnings by taking home second prize in the Share the Wealth draw.
It was a terrific day of friendly competition, with plenty of laughs and some impressive bowling from the Cobourg contingent.
One thing is certain: when the Cobourg teams are on the green, you know it’s going to be a fun time!
