Hard to believe when you look at these two photos (taken last weekend, since when we have had yet another snow fall) that 7 weeks today we will be doing the spring clean at the club house and 8 weeks today will be our opening day.
The Spring General Meeting will be held at the Cobourg Community Centre on Thursday May 1st at 7.00 pm. The meeting starts at 7.00 pm but membership registration will take place from 6.30 pm.
The Spring clean up is on Saturday May 3rd at 9.00 am.
Opening Day is Saturday May 10th with a pot luck lunch at 12.00 pm followed by the opening day jitney.
There will be an Open House on Saturday May 17th.
Car Parking
Some of you may have seen from the local papers that Council approved our request for 50 car park passes (the same number as we received last year). We will be operating the same system for issue of these as we have in previous seasons.
Sponsors and Advertisers
We lost one sponsor this year, Quantrill, but have gained two new sponsors - On Site Computer Services and Amica at Quinte Gardens. I have put links to sponsors' websites on the tournament pages. Yearbook advertisers are still being finalized but we hope to have 3 new advertisers. On Site Computer Services and Amica as well as sponsoring will be advertising and The Framed View is also going to advertise.
Please support our advertisers and sponsors as much as possible. Without their support we would lose vital income and would not be able to run as many successful tournaments as we do at present. And if you do use them let them know you are from the lawn bowling club.
For Sale
Kathy Mclean has a set of barely used 00 legacy bowls for sale for $125. If you are interested please contact Kathy. If anyone else has equipment for sale please let me know and I'll circulate details. And, as I started out saying, there are only 8 weeks to go to the start of the season so now is the time to get in touch with Dan or Sharyl Ann Milligan to get yourself equipped ready for the new season. Some of you may not know that Dan, as well as being the owner of MVP Sports, is also a member of our club so make them your first port of call for bowling equipment.
