The weather forecast was not good but thankfully it stayed dry until we completed the second end of our open triples novices tournament today. We were unable to play the third game when the rain started.
The tournament was sponsored by Louisa and Bill Arthur. We had seven Cobourg teams competing and teams from Belleville, Lindsay, Oshawa and Cosburn Park. The winners were the Cobourg team of Peter Stuart-Sheppard, Sheri Perkins and Terry Dyche with 2 wins and 31+2 points. The second place team of Mark Pearson, Bill MacCollam and Lynn Frost from Cosburn Park also had 31 points but no plus points.
It was a really good showing from the Cobourg teams who took three of the five prizes.
This was a great way for less experienced players to get into tournament play and learn so much about the game. Hopefully it will encourage more players to get into tournament play.
