The club was delighted to welcome Kim Rudd, MP for Northumberland - Peterborough South, to the club today for an announcement about a grant to the club under the new Horizons for Seniors Program. This is a federal program that helps to ensure that seniors can benefit from, and contribute to, the quality of life in their communities through active living and participation in social activities.
The grant will be used to purchase new greens keeping equipment; a new greens mower, an aerator, a ride on mower for cutting the surrounds and a self propelled push mower for surrounds where the ride on mower cannot be used. Additionally some new club bowls will be purchased.
Thanks to President Carol Dewey and Treasurer Donna Ball for their hard work in putting together this grant application. Unfortunately they are both still in Florida so were unable to attend the announcement.
