Let me start with an apology first of all. When I said I would award winners of games 3 points I did not mean winners of individual games – I meant the overall winner of the jitney. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused.
Tuesday and Thursday nights were again well attended with 25 players on Thursday night. Wednesday and Saturday afternoons have not been as well attended but have still been enjoyed by the few members that have played in those sessions. And here’s a tip; if you want to accumulate some points you’ve more chance of winning on Wednesday and Saturday. Look what happened yesterday – a 50% chance of getting 3 points! Not fair? Of course not but them’s my rules!
I would like to remind you of one thing – the need to keep 2 metres apart. There has been the odd occasion when the Safety Officer has had to remind people of that. The easiest way to ensure physical distancing is to remember and follow the etiquette of lawn bowls. When your team is not in control of the rink step back from the head. We have plenty of space between rinks so please use that space. Also only vices should be in the head when judging the result of an end.
That’s the end of the sermon.
The standings at the end of week 2 are:
Fran Marsh 9 points
Vince Tamburello 6 points
Carl Ferguson 6 points
Bozana Brick 6 points
Ralph Hewitt 6 points
Helen Beaton 6 points
Malcolm Wardman 6 points
Below is a link to the week 2 scores and some photos. Guess who the blue bowls belong to. Answers in the comments section please.
