Also the Ontario Government has announced that we will be moving to Step 1 of the Ontario re-opening plan on Friday June 11th. Our plans have also been approved by the Town of Cobourg.
The Executive Committee has agreed to implement the following return to play measures.
This Week
On Thursday of this week we can have up to 12 members either practising or playing what is described as “recreational singles” (Phase 1 of Bowls Canada return to play protocols)
Saturday June 12th
We will move to Phase 2 of the Bowls Canada return to play protocols. This means we can play “recreational pairs” with up to 24 members. That is 4 members per rink with an empty rink between rinks in play.
Given the increase in numbers we will hold only one session on Saturday. This will start at 2.00 pm and each rink can play up to 10 ends of pairs.
Members who have already booked for Saturday will be automatically entered for Saturday’s pairs.
From Tuesday June 15th
We will continue with play on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for now, although we may increase this depending upon demand. Only one session will be held on each day with 10 ends of play.
Tuesday and Thursday sessions will start at 7.00 pm with effect from June 15th.
Wednesday and Saturday sessions will start at 2.00 pm with effect from June 16th.
The current booking arrangements will continue so please contact Bill Arthur ([email protected] or 289-829-0182) to book a session. If any of this is unclear please do not hesitate to get in touch. You may book as far ahead as you wish – you do not have to wait for weekly announcements.
Step 3 (anticipated early July)
When Step 3 starts we can move to triples play and resume our jitneys. We will let you have further details about that in due course.
